One of the many avianid species that dominate the galaxy, discovers the only planet to evolve humans. They soon discover humans have a symbiotic relationship with an invisible, massless race, humans know as Teachers. Teachers accelerated the evolution of humans in exchange for emotional energy. When humans escape their Teacher guides, they exhibit extraordinary psychic powers. The avianids fear the humans but want their gene for psychic powers. One human, Jonathan, works with an avianid leader, Tsarus, to help find the human gene in exchange for protection from other threatening avianid races. Both the humans and Tsarus' avianid people face many challenges to their survival. Modern day humans on earth are likely related.
