Full Description

A strange intermittent transmission emanating from Pluto is playing havoc with Earth’s omnipresent electronic systems in the early 2100’s. The first ever expedition to Pluto is dispatched with the ambiguous goal of investigating and nullifying the problem. The crew of 4 humans and 4 androids sets up a base of operations on Pluto’s largest moon, Charon. Two accidents destroy the spacecraft and communication systems. This leaves only 1 male human (Joe) and 1 female android (Eva) marooned in the base for at least 4 years until rescue can occur. They also encounter a very ambiguous contact from an alien life form that is unknowingly threatening the existence of life on Earth .

Not just an account of a crash landing on an alien planet, Marooned on Charon explores the complex and very personal development of a relationship between an android and a human. It also delves into human psychopathology and the development of android emotion in the helpless face of an alien environment 500 million miles from Earth. The author tells the tale from both human and android viewpoints, and writes from the unique perspective of being a clinical and neuropsychologist. Book 2 is Eva's account of her life and the parts that overlapped with Joe’s, while Book 1 is Joe’s perspective on his life and the same events.
