For a long time now, humanity has been at peace. Issa Djata, of the Explorers Guild, seeks to put human feet the furthest they've ever been in a crewed mission to Pluto. There, he makes a discovery that shakes humanity and puts into motion a series of events that tests all of society. The thread of his story intertwines with two others. Felicia, a young search and rescue pilot just entering the service and ironically Amita, an auditor at the Earth Grain Board. Together, they realize that there are those who believe peace is inherently wrong and look to return humanity to internecine war. Will they be able to stop them and their militant beliefs?
