Folklory sighed, leaned back. They’d figured out how to read minds, to watch the brain conduct its private operations in micronic (space and time) intervals, to fix a raft of the most insidious problems, but they still couldn’t defeat basic human nature, which gravitated toward self-abuse far more than anyone would have anticipated before UMAA.
