Following a mysterious letter, a journalist travels to a secret underground land, which has survived in isolation throughout the centuries, sparking myths and legends about dwarves and fairies. The traveller recounts of countless wonders and extraordinary features of this advanced civilisation he visited. He describes how its citizens interact as a society and how they have managed to achieve their technological breakthroughs by working in unity and solidarity across the centuries.

But he also learns of the ever-present dangers of the underground, and of the latest threat they now face. A threat which could very well mean the end of their way of life.
