The Dawn of Artificial Consciousness
Episode I - Primum: The Awakening.

Embedded in the genes of homo sapiens, the need to look towards infinity, as well as towards the interior of our mind, has led us on an inexorable path of discoveries, sometimes daring, confronting us with the most complex and impregnable mysteries.
The nature of intelligence and, as a pinnacle, of consciousness is one of the most entwined, almost magical, puzzles we face. To date we have only been able to obtain general and vague information, like someone trying to decipher the detailed plans of a battle by listening only to the distant thunder of cannons.
Like Da Vinci, who inspired by the flight of birds designed a glider that we now know that could have flown, perhaps the creation of artificial brains in imitation of the example that nature offers us, supported by the technological tools that overwhelm us today, is the best way to understand the most wonderful piece of creation.
Playing at the role of gods, we could be on the threshold of transforming the human race, in almost an instant, as evolution has failed to do for several million years.
Such a project is that of our story, within the framework of a distrustful and violent society, which by all means tries to mediate the research and appropriate the results in order to use them in its eternal struggle for supremacy.
It is the battle of wisdom against the primitive man who, inhabiting us, tries to blind the spiritual man who fights for the material and spiritual well-being of the human race, despite the dangers that such daring entails.
