Full Description

A narrative is defined, among other things, as a way of presenting a situation or series of events that reflects and promotes a particular point of view or set of values. If a narrative is close to reality, it lasts. If it is further from reality it will eventually run into trouble.
If a narrative isn’t able to reflect reality, however much a culture may pursue its dogmatic imposition, it will run into multiple interpretations and confusion without solving the key problems it set out originally to iron out.
The question is that if a narrative hasn’t sorted out some of the fundamental issues pertaining to creation, does it make sense to keep going down the same path and continue to sow more confusion. Or, does it make more sense to look at bolder counter narratives that provide an alternate view of the reality out there.
‘The Hymn of Creation’ doesn’t pretend to be a literary masterpiece. Rather, it uses a set of characters and a story with not a few allusions to put forward a counter narrative. Of course, you cannot read here and there and still get to the counter narrative that it builds.
That said, those who venture will fall on one side or the other ‑ indicating if they are inside-the-box or outside-the-box thinkers.
