Every evening Vargas leaves his wife Squaw, sons Guy and Doll, and his beautiful New Jersey home to travel to a dark, silent, deserted Manhattan. Vargas works at the New York Police Department of the near future. He is in charge of removing dead bodies at night. But if the body is that of a woman too healthy to be taken away or a computer scientist who has vanished into thin air, then things get complicated. Maybe New York is not what it seems.
