After escaping from Earth, Kane Walker must find his way in a galaxy riddled with war and crime. With his two best friends, military veteran Paco and Lorgan tech expert Jaxo, he travels to Haizo to begin a career as a mercenary.
Together with the Krodaa sniper Ruby Bell, they form a versatile team called the Wolf Pack due to their leader's nickname, the Silver Wolf. Unknown at first, the squad works their way to the top of the mercenary food chain through a series of dangerous jobs on various worlds and is entrusted with missions that are not only morally dubious but could change the course of the war.
As the events of The Commander: Guardian of Utopia and The Commander: Downfall unfold, the Wolf Pack is also active in the four sectors, working with some familiar characters. In addition, there is a reunion with Kane's former teacher and friend, the master thief Longpaw.
